Snowy Time Trial

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Fairbanks got its first snow today, a nasty mix of snow and rain around 35 degrees F.  Pretty much perfect weather for a tough 5k time trial on a typical ski course for the upcoming winter.  Before long we’ll be doing these time trials with boards strapped to our feet and more rest on the downhills.   At least we weren’t waxing for that weather…

The time trial went well with good efforts put in by all but some miscomunicuation over where the course went to make it more like a 6k for most people.  Afterwards we had a solid strength session to round out the day.

Skate Speeds!

Friday, September 11th, 2009

We rediscovered a great stretch of road for roller skiing with super low traffic (we only saw 3 cars in an hour), decent pavement and some good uphill terrain allowing us to do some great head to head speeds.
